We are a fifth-generation family business founded by John Sisk in Cork in 1859.

John Sisk establishes his building business in 1859, the same year he married Kate Burke.

The first major public building is completed by John Sisk at Parish Church, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

The firm's major contracts in the 19th century are churches, banks and hotels. Nenagh Church is the largest of the 21 churches built in this period.

John Sisk builds four streets of housing in Cork for his workforce.

John Valentine Sisk starts his own building business but rejoins his father in 1907, hence the company name John Sisk & Son. On his father's death, John Valentine Sisk becomes the sole owner.

John Sisk & Son build the new head office of Munster and Leinster Bank (now AIB), in South Mall, Cork.

John Gerard Sisk joins the company after receiving a degree in Civil Engineering from University College, Cork.

Cork City Hall is opened by the then President of Ireland, Eamon de Valera.

John G. Sisk establishes the Dublin branch, with just his wife Molly as secretary and cousin Herbert Dennis as foreman.

John Sisk & Son build the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Dublin, first government office building of the Free State.

Sisk setup Joint Venture company with the Dutch company Hollandsche Beton Maatschappij to build Wexford Bridge. The new company is known as Ascon and remains a joint venture for 33 years.

Sisk expands into Africa, working in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Nigeria.

Sisk moves office to the Naas Road, Dublin.

Sisk workers stand on scaffolding at the Liberty Hall site overlooking O'Connell Bridge, Dublin.

George H Sisk becomes the fourth generation to join the company and eventually leads the business.

Ballymun housing scheme is completed by Sisk.

The iconic Central Bank on Dame Street, Dublin is completed by Sisk.

The Square town centre, Tallaght is completed by Sisk.

In the UK, Sisk is contracted to build the first National Lottery-funded project, The American Air Museum, in Duxford.

Sisk meets with Johnson & Johnson for the first time and the first project we completed for them was the Vistakon contact lens plant in Limerick.

Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, is completed by Sisk.

After almost a decade of phased works, Croke Park Stadium, Dublin is completed by Sisk.

The glass-walled Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin is complete by Sisk.

The reconfiguration of Wembley Arena, London is completed by Sisk.

We celebrate 150 years in business.

The redevelopment of Lansdowne Road, the world's oldest international rugby union stadium is completed by Sisk.

Four projects for the London Olympics, including the award-winning shooting venues, are completed by Sisk. These are later transported and rebuilt by Sisk for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Guiness, the largest stout brewery in the world at St. James' Gate, Dublin is completed by Sisk for Diageo.

Tunnel works on Crossrail in London is completed by Dragados Sisk Joint Venture (DSJV).

Capital Dock, Ireland's tallest residential tower, is completed by Sisk.

John Sisk & Son celebrates 160 years in business.

The restoration of Avondale House and Forest Park in Co. Wicklow is completed by Sisk.

We move to our new home, a state of-the-art retrofit building in Citywest Campus, Dublin.
