Our Etihad Stadium - North Stand development team recently hosted two powerful sessions with Mindflow, a charity committed to championing mental health in the construction industry by harnessing the power of football, headed up by ex-Everton and England footballer, Trevor Steven.
These sessions were designed to help normalise conversations around mental health and encourage people to seek help when they need it.
A huge thank you to Manchester City Football Club for welcoming us into their media centre, creating the perfect environment for open dialogue. The talk was delivered by former Manchester City footballer, David White.
His honesty and courage resonated with everyone in the room, reinforcing the importance of speaking up, asking for help and supporting one another.
This session was attended by 180 Sisk staff and supply chain partners and closely aligned with our commitment to mental health and our Mental Health Peer Support programme, where trained staff are able to offer a listening ear to those that may need it and signpost to appropriate resources.
Darren Kennedy, Health & Safety Manager and Mental Health Peer Supporter at Sisk said: “Displaying vulnerability in talking about mental health can be so powerful; using football was a great vehicle.”
Carl Brierley, Programme Director, Sisk said: "The sessions were thought provoking and powerful, offering an excellent crossover with mental health and football.”
