Due to open in 2025 the new 150 bed hospital is being built to the highest technical, accessibility and sustainability standards. It will see employment levels double, with a significant recruitment programme to be undertaken.

Innovation at the heart

This new state-of-the-art hospital will provide advanced medical and surgical care in addition to a Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), Medical Ward, Specialist Ophthalmology Department, Interventional Cardiovascular Lab and more. There is a masterplan in place to eventually produce a world-class health campus around the new hospital.

Building a more sustainable hospital

This will be our most sustainable hospital to date. There is great access to public transport and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. The new car park will also have EV parking. Sustainable materials are being used and the building will have a high-performance envelope and LED lighting. Alternative energy sources will be utilised.
