We're proud to be delivering seven Community Nursing Units (CNUs) through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) across Ireland as part of the HSE’s HIQA CNU compliance programme. The project will provide the residential care facilities for older persons across the country.

Delivering across multiple locations

The programme will deliver 530 badly needed nursing-home beds to the HSE at Thomastown (95 beds); Ardee (50 beds); Athlone (50 beds); Clonmel (50 beds); Killarney (130 beds); Middleton (50 beds) and St Finbarr’s (105 beds within the existing St Finbarr’s Hospital campus).

A person-centred approach

The modern design of the CNU’s focuses on quality of life; providing an environment that reflects the comforts of home, with assistance provided as necessary around the performance of everyday tasks. Each household includes a dayroom and sunroom, dining area, break out spaces, activity spaces and more. Additional spaces include the likes of family overnight-stay rooms and hairdressers’ rooms.

Adopting MMC

To maximise the use of MMC techniques, the building superstructures were manufactured off-site using pre-cast concrete. When complete, all buildings will be A2 Building Energy Rating (BER) minimum.

Sensori FM

Sensori FM, part of the Sisk Group, will act as the facilities management contractor and manage the FM in the completed CNU’s when they are operational.
