Over the past week, we have been running a series of dedicated Health & Safety Conferences in Ireland and the UK – ‘Stepping up, Owning the Outcome’ – a first for the Sisk Group. Senior leaders from across our business have been invited to actively engage in helping shape our future Health and Safety strategy and to explore how they can play their part in owning the outcome.
Attendees have heard from external thought leaders from DEKRA and HESPER GRC, who have shared experiences, challenged our current thinking and encouraged us to explore opportunities to improve maturity and psychological safety across the work that we do.
The conferences coincided with the CIF Construction Safety Campaign in Ireland, which runs from 12th-23rd October. Both initiatives have provided us with valuable opportunities to reflect on the importance of Health & Safety across our organisation and industry this month.
Paul Brown, CEO, Sisk said: “Health & Safety is a key element of our current five-year growth strategy at Sisk. With an ever-increasing pipeline of work across our expanding territories, there has never been a more important time to restate our absolute commitment to continuous improvement. The way we behave, and the choices we make, influence the Health & Safety of everybody, everyday. The ‘Stepping up, Owning the Outcome’ conferences have been a great way to ensure Health and Safety is always front of mind. It was uplifting to hear the quality of the conversations in the room and I am confident in the people we have and their ability to respond, continue to make a real difference, and play their part in owning the outcome.”
